I try to pick these by looking at what I’ve listened to in the past week and considering which made me think the most. Alex Rampell and Frank Chen’s “Fintech for Startups and Incumbents” episode of the a16z podcast reaches far beyond the concepts in the title. There’s plenty of David and Goliath-level narratives, as well as examples of asymmetric information, selection bias, and other key economic terms we all experience daily but may not know the labels for. This is well worth a listen (and probably a re-listen). I’ve also got some high-level takeaways in this post too. Enjoy.
