Eric Idle and John Cleese both sat for individual interviews with Marc Maron this week. I was raised on a regular diet of Flying Circus episodes and the movies, so these two are basically gods to me. Some of the highlights include:
That the problem with bureaucrats is not that they don’t know what they’re doing, but that they don’t know they have no idea that they don’t know what they’re doing.
That people have kids to selfishly make them less selfish.
And that politics is just not-entertaining show business.
They’ve both still got it and this is a great chance to be reminded of how the iconic troupe came together.
