SNL Doesn’t Go On Because It’s Ready, It Goes On Because It’s 11:30

Performers aren’t perfectionists.

Whatever we’re working on might get edited down and polished up before we sent it off, but it still gets sent.

And nothing gets done that doesn’t get sent.

Until the point of performance, it’s all just talk.

Lorne Michaels said, “Saturday Night Live doesn’t go on because it’s ready, it goes on because it’s Saturday night at 11:30.”

Less waiting, more doing. It’s always 11:29pm somewhere.
