Sometimes a song captures a feeling so completely, it exists beyond the lyrics, chords, and rhythms.
I fell down a Steve Jordan rabbit hole a few weeks ago and found “Hate It When You Leave” by Keith Richards on my trip. It’s magic. An aching, melancholy, pleading magic, but magic nonetheless.

From the lightly driving drums and Motown style arrangement, to the layered guitars and vocals, this is a masterpiece.
Oh, and apparently there’s a made in 2020 music video for it too?! Why not. Something went right in 2020 at least.
