Sunday Music: Rip It Up

It’s the roots of rock and roll.

At some point I ended up with a CD copy of Little Georgia Peach. It’s all on there. All the history, the swagger, the magnetism.

It’s the sound of teenage rebellion, exploration.

It’s the sound of freedom, even if it’s freedom in a constrained world.

Well, it’s Saturday night, and I just got paid

Fool about my money, don’t try to save

My heart says go, go, have a time

‘Cause it’s Saturday night, and I’m feelin’ fine

It’s not nihilism, it’s a party. And I still love throwing this on so, so much.
