Bite Me

“You sound arrogant.”

That was the “advice” I got (unsolicited) when I started writing online.

I responded with some version of – “Maybe I do, maybe I don’t, but writing helps me think.”

“Everybody already thinks you’re an a******, do you seriously want even more people to think you’re an a******?”

“Apparently I do.”

The conversation ended. I did not revisit it. Left foot, right foot – eventually, all the way out through the exit.

And I’m glad I didn’t let them talk me out of it, because I get a lot of thinking done while writing these notes.

There’s probably someone trying to talk you out of doing something you want to do too.

This is arrogant me saying “Don’t let them. If you want to do it, go do it.”

As my nearly-namesake guy Zig Ziglar once said,

Don’t be distracted by criticism. Remember – the only taste of success some people get is to take a bite out of you.

Preach.

Go define success however you want, even if it’s just one complete thought per day for yourself, and then

do it.

You’ll find your people too. And they’ll be infinitely more supportive. Infinitely.

ps. even if he’s the worst, channel your inner Logan Roy whenever you need to. If that’s too aggressive for you, stick to the Isley Brothers (check out this live version!!!).
