Bring It Down OR Bring Them Up?

Is it better to have Prometheus bringing the fire down to the people OR to bring the people up to the fire to take it?

Should you bring a service downstream OR bring your clients upstream?

I’m asking these questions because I’m thinking a lot (OK, too much probably) about agency and what puts the power in the hands of the people doing the work AND being served.

Current thinking: inside of a company you might figure out what you are bringing downstream. But, in the eyes of the client, you need to make them feel like you are bringing them upstream to take advantage of what was previously out of reach.

You can have both mindsets at the same time, so long as you remember who the audience is you’re talking to.

What do you think?
