CS Lewis On Pain As A Motivator

When the universe speaks, you should listen. 

If it has to scream at you (using your full first name and middle initial), you better hop to it quick. 

I may know a thing or two about this. 

CS Lewis put it like so,

Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pain: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.

Pain is a megaphone, grabbing our attention, even when we’re otherwise deaf. 

Listen to the pain, and don’t just get used to it. Take the step to get out of it.
