David Sedaris On Using “True” Stories

When asked if a story is True, David Sedaris has been known to say, 

“(it’s) true enough for you.” 

This isn’t to say go out and tell lies. 

But if you’re telling stories (ex. “marketing”) – and we’re all telling stories, remember, the goal is to elicit a response. 

Make it true enough for a response, and true enough to yourself, your integrity, and your own ethics.
