A piece of advice from a podcast that my notes are failing to connect back to, but my memory says somebody's dad always said these two things to them:

Do the best you can

And

Done is better than perfect

The reason I jotted these down, and am slightly annoyed I don't have the attribution, is how they fit together.

Because doing your best AND finishing without demanding perfection is the magic here.

I'm increasingly of the belief that perfect is a myth, or at least a temporal experience, and therefore - an internal assessment of the quality of effort combined with an external validation of having anything be shared with the world is my gold standard.

Even this post.

I do wish I had the attribution, but the sentiment from the show that ended up in my notes is good enough to tell the universe thank you and share this with you.

Do your best. Don't worry about perfection.

You know what love is.
