Identity And Individuality

Identity comes from the word that means “the same.” Like identical. Two things, lined up. 

Our identity is revealed like a match. 

Individuality comes from the root words for “different.” Like divided from. Two things, next to each other, that aren’t the same. 

Our individuality is revealed in opposition.

There’s a lot of talk about alignment. About what the throughlines are. They’re important. 

But so is remembering, 

Identity is alignment within ourselves, and

Individuality is the differentiation between ourselves and the others.
