Long Live The Clowns (A Sense Of Humor Is Just Common Sense Dancing)
Everything is still funny. Even if people are acting like nothing is funny anymore. They’re wrong, it is, and I intend to laugh about it.
A Clive James quote (via Tom Papa’s excellent We’re All In This Together, with an extra bit from Quote Investigator, emphasis added):
Common sense and a sense of humour are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humour is just common sense, dancing. Those who lack humour are without judgment and should be trusted with nothing.
Find the funny. Don’t overlook the common sense. It’s hiding in the tempo – you can speed up or slow down to see it.
Ps. It’s such a goofy song for so many reasons – beyond the made-up words to turn everything into a triplet. Still, it’s all I can hear as I’m writing this post
My waist bone’s connected to my hip bone
My hip bone’s connected to my thigh-bone
My thigh-bone’s connected to my knee bone
My knee bone’s connected to my hardy-har-har-har
