People, Purpose, and Processes (My 3 Sacred P’s)

Once a person cares about something, it requires people

A business idea needs a customer.

A great act needs an audience.

A family needs a proverbial village to live and participate in.

Once two (or more) or more people care about something together, they have a purpose

The customers what the business makes so much they want to tell their friends.

The band is writing such sweet songs, that the audience and their sing-a-longs can’t seem to help growing.

The family can’t field a soccer team, but the town can – and the travel team is holding tryouts, do you think they’re good enough to make it…?

Once the people have found a purpose, they’ll want to align themselves with it via a process

Finding a purpose and getting (and staying) aligned with it is what process is all about.

A growing business looks to keep growing without losing touch with the reasons they started the business in the first place.

The band is out on tour and realizes the value, and logistical majesty, of their tour manager.

The parents “divide and conquer” to get all of the kids to the activities they’re each most passionate about.

People, Purpose, and Process all evolve over time.

Before we assess or fix any situation, we want to take inventory of all 3 Ps.

Where did the people come from? Where are they going?

What’s the shared purpose? Are there multiple purposes?

What processes got us here? Which ones will keep us here? Which ones will get us out of here, willingly OR unwillingly?

So simple and so insightful. That’s why they’re my 3 Sacred Ps.

Pick a situation and start identifying each. Send me an email and tell me about what you see and what you want to do with it. I’m listening.
