You operate at a certain speed. The people you work with operate at their own speeds too. The speeds can change over time for a variety of reason.
Projects have speeds and sometimes it’s hard to jump on and off. Sometimes it’s hard to pull people in and out. Again, there are factors at play that you have to look for.
Markets work in the same way. Competition does too. They have tempo.
Who owns the project?
Who is passionate and who isn’t?
Who benefits and how much?
How do we compare? To ourselves? To others?
What’s the best benchmark?
Don’t fight the rhythm, you’ll only get frustrated. Instead, try to find it and lock in. From there, you can dial the pace up or down.
