Hozier gets credit for taking chances. I don’t love everything he does, but I think you can always see where he’s coming from and what he’s aiming for. It’s a noble pursuit and when it lands as it does on “Nobody,” it lands hard. The mix of pop, soul, gospel, and grit with his voice and lyrics just works.
