Sunday Music: GZA on NPR’s Tiny Desk
It’s probably more nostalgia-seeking than a rave review of this specific performance, but… GZA will always get my attention. Bias disclosed. Enjoy the throwbacks, and recognize that what he was doing lyrically in the early 1990s put him in a class of his own. That’s not just my opinion either – did you know he was ranked #2 in a study for breadth of vocabulary (Aesop Rock was #1, he was mentioned previously here)? Because “if you living in the world today…”
The Tiny Desk performance wasn’t up on YouTube yet, but you can see it here.
