Sunday Music: La Grange

Have mercy. I finally watched the Netflix documentary, “That Little Ol’ Band from Texas,” about ZZ Top. Billy Gibbons reportedly went and ran around outside in the winter to get his voice to sound the way it does on “La Grange.” Creativity, dedication to the craft, and world-building, this band deserves a Harvard case study. Beyond the music, the marketing of this band was impeccable. The beards, the cars, the videos, the evolution from their initial bands to their first big tour to really blowing up in the MTV era, it’s not easy to go 50+ years in anything. “La Grange” was their first single and is still one of my favorite songs of all-time.
