Sunday Music: Like Cold November Rain (Go Easy, Rider)

When your fiancé says “Let’s put some G N’ R on” you don’t argue. You embrace being 10 again, popping the cassette into the deck, and basking in the glory of using one’s illusions.

Whatever age you were when you heard “November Rain” (or especially when you first saw the video), it sticks with you.

The multi-part structure. The ballad turned screaming guitar, choir-backed rock anthem. Slash playing the guitar solo outside the chapel.

FEELING LIKE SLASH IN FRONT OF THE CHAPEL

I’M LEANED BACK WITH THE LES PAUL

Everything’s connected. I make a joke about how we’re on an adventure today too (we were off to a concert on a whim). I bring up those lyrics mentioned above, from the Action Bronson song, “Easy Rider.”

We rewatched F*** That’s Delicious in its entirety over the past several months. We haven’t watched Easy Rider together yet, but if we do – I’ll probably stop it before the end. We’re on an adventure and I don’t want any ends like the movie’s.*

When all the vibes connect in the best ways, you have to notice and appreciate it.

Guns N’ Roses. Action Bronson. Easy Rider

Us on a long ride in the fall, off on an adventure.

F*** life’s delicious.
