Sunday Music: People Get Ready

Curtis Mayfield’s Curtis/Live! is one of my time machine shows. There’s so much going on in this stripped-down set, I’d love to have had the chance to watch this band live. This version of “People Get Ready” is one of my favorites. The guitar work in particular – you can really hear where Jimi Hendrix learned so much of his rhythm style.
