The Best Way To Predict The Future Is To Make It

Famed management thinker Peter Drucker used to say, “The best way to predict the future is to make it.”

Everyone is predicting (i.e. guessing) who will be the next President, when coronavirus will be gone/kill us all, and which direction the stock market will go tomorrow.

Far fewer are making (i.e. doing something) to lead people towards a cause they care about, helping to spread a new idea worth spreading, or making investments in concepts that won’t pay off for years if not decades.

Drucker was smart. The future doesn’t really listen to what we have to say. If we want to be right about something, the best thing we can do is to go and make it happen.
