A Successful Mentor Must Be These Two Things

Just these two, that's it!

Yuri Khodjamirian told me, via his Intentional Investor interview, not just how but why his mentors had such a profound impact on him.

He’d narrowed it all down, in the kind of way only a professional like him can do, into two distinct factors.

Here’s what he said,

Any successful mentor needs to be secure and selfless.

Secure in who they are, so they are never challenged by the advancement of the mentee, and

selfless in the act of giving as much knowledge and experience as they can offer to the person they are trying to help grow.

I’ve met many an insecure and selfish mentor. I’ve seen the damage they can do. It’s an issue.

But I’ve also seen, and met, many a well-mentored success story, like Yuri.

The combination of secure and selfless is special.

Take those factors and model them in your behavior.

The world needs more mentors with this mindset.

ps. Yuri’s life journey is pretty incredible to hear. No way he does this all alone. Downright inspiring:
