Cultish Creative Weekly Recap (11/16/2024)

"so much losers" but by losers I mean podcasts and misc. video content

It’s a very cool thing to talk to two people you respect about hard topics in public. I sat down with Grant Williams and Ben Hunt for a special post-election, pre-whatever’s next episode of Excess Returns this week. The conversation (unsurprisingly, probably) lands on why all that really matters is what you make, protect, and teach of your life, but the path they took me down on the way there, everybody can learn something from this:

I don’t talk to enough MFA’s. Especially not those with business experience. Jared Dillian’s a writer, former Lehman trader, and all-round fascinating person. You don’t want to miss this personal story of growth, figuring out what works for you, and attacking life with all you’ve got (via Epsilon Theory):

Cullen Roche is one of a handful of thinkers who shaped my understanding of how markets and economies work. Jack Forehand and I dissected a number of his biggest ideas over on Excess Returns this week. Bonus: Cullen once made a reference to the Fed being like Chuck Norris, and I unpacked which Chuck Norris role I’m reverse-engineering it to be.

I did a book review for Aaron Carnes In Defense of Ska: Ska Now More Than Ever Edition. Read my post here, and watch it below,

and if you missed the time Aaron came on Just Press Record,

What really matters in life (extra emphasis back to the Grant/Ben podcast above): a riff on big, small, and real-time meaning.
