Days Off Make For The Best Work

“You’re not working on your day off, are you?!” “Nope. Just had to get a picture of us here – don’t forget to smile…”

Here’s to taking days off and spending time with the people we care about.

And then to reflecting on those days off because…

We ate dinner at Marta, Danny Meyer and Nick Anderer’s pizza spot. When we ordered espressos after our meal, our waiter brought out complimentary glasses of sambuca along with it.

If you want to make an experience memorable, you end it right.

We were wondering who the opening act for Depeche Mode would be. Neither of us knew who Stella Rose and The Dead Language were, but some googling helped us figure out the singer was Depeche Mode singer Dave Gahan’s daughter. Like father, like daughter – what a gift for each of them.

If you want to pass your values down to future generations, you’ll have to truly share them.

And last but not least – Depeche Mode lost co-founder Andy Fletcher unexpectedly while recording their most recent album (aptly titled, “Memento Mori”). They finished the record and honored the tour with Fletch there in spirit. Every business and every family needs a continuation plan, even if just to wind things down.

If you want to honor your friends, family, and fans – do everything with an open heart and open intentions. We hurt together, but we also heal together.

Days off make for the best work.

Ps. are we connected on LinkedIn? I originally shared this post there but wanted to save it here too. Send me a connect request if we aren’t.
