Rushing Back

how to extend a vacation

Rushing Back

My buddy John was having a great Father’s Day long weekend with just him and his wife. They were looking at the work schedules for the week, thinking about the upcoming midweek holiday, and the question came up…

What exactly are we rushing back for?

That’s a fantastic filtering question.

You can add speed (or pace, or my preferred - tempo) alongside from/to:

What are we rushing back to? What are we rushing back from?

What are we slowing down to? What are we slowing down from?

And the combos,

What are we rushing back to? What are we slowing down from?

What are we slowing down to? What are we rushing back from?

Actions speak louder than words.

And, a little strategy goes a long way, so playing with which words frame the right questions helps.

(John and his wife extended their trip. It’s good to have friends you admire for their choices.)
