Cultish Creative Weekly Recap (12/28/2024)

holidays, anniversaries, and other fun

I hope you’re enjoying your end of year holiday weeks as much as I am. Here are some things you might have missed:

I read the Miles David autobiography when I was in college and loved it. Reading it all of these years later has led to some fresh realizations. Quotes like this, grappling with his mentors and inspirations, just floor me. Every artist should read the quote in this entry. So useful.

Support people on the path you’re on that are behind you. Like the Alchemist. There’s just no downside to telling people on your downside you see them and to keep going.

Jack Forehand and I did a whole Excess Returns episode basically on if you should care about the rest of the world or just focus on the US. This one is very relevant to a lot of professional conversations I’ve had in the past year.

Technical difficulties and a thing being technically difficult are not the same thing. Some thoughts. And also, my lame excuse for why there’s no Intentional Investor this week (but man do we have some stuff cooking for early next year).

Christmas is about the darkness receding and the light taking back over. This was not a Christmas post exactly, but it was in the spirit of the season, like many a Christmas movie. (I like my Christmas movies like I like my chocolate chips: bittersweet.)

No, I did not (would not, could not) forget my wedding anniversary. I did write a post about it. And, on full Bozek-brand, It does include marriage advice from Jerry Seinfeld.
